My son is allergic to milk and his birthday is coming up. I am looking for a bakery that can make him a cake with ';NO MILK'; IN IT. Can someone give my any reccomendations on bakeries or any ';NO MILK'; recepies that I can make him one from home in time for his party on the 27th? I would love for him to have a cake to smash and put his hands in.I need a recipe for a ';NO'; milk, butter cake for my son's 1st birthday party!?
It's tough to suggest where to find such a bakery without knowing where you live but this might help.

Here's my favorite vegan chocolate cake recipe. Most of the old fashioned recipes use no dairy or eggs and are some of the moistest cakes I've ever had. You asked for a ';butter cake'; recipe and what I'm offering is a chocolate recipe but since you're looking for something dairy free, I'm not sure if it has to be vanilla or not.

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake With Cocoa Frosting

Yield: 8-10 servings

3 cups all purpose flour

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups cold water

1 cup corn oil

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (check the ingredients, but most of the semi-sweet chocolate is dairy free)

Preheat oven to 350掳F. Grease and flour three 9-inch-diameter cake pans with 1 1/2-inch-high sides. Sift first 5 ingredients into medium bowl. Mix water, oil and vanilla in large bowl. Whisk in dry ingredients. Divide batter among pans. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips over batter in each pan. Bake cakes until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cool cakes in pans on racks 15 minutes. Cut around pan sides to loosen cakes. Turn cakes out; cool completely.

Chocolate Frosting

INGREDIENTS

o1 cup sugar

o6 T corn starch

o4 T cocoa

o1/2 t salt

o2 T oil

o1 cup water

o1/2 t vanilla

METHOD

Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cocoa in a medium sauce pan. Whisk in the water. Heat over medium until it gets thick and starts to boil. Boil for 1-2 minutes (make sure you don't boil too long, or it will set like toffee). Remove from heat and stir in oil and vanilla. Cool and spread on cooled cake.

I also have a quick/simple frosting I use which is just cocoa powder, powdered sugar, water, oil and salt. I don't have the exact measurements because I just sort of eyeball it but it's probably about 1 cup of confectioner's sugar, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, a few TBS of water and a teaspoon of oil with a dash or two of salt. I mix the dry ingredients then slowly add the wet to make a fairly thick, but spreadable chocolate icing.

If you really want to make a traditional butter cake, substitute butter flavored crisco but you'll still have to come up with another icing option.I need a recipe for a ';NO'; milk, butter cake for my son's 1st birthday party!?
